There was nary a Mass this a.m. in Modesto for the priests are all on retreat. However, we had a beautiful Mass at the Doubletree thanks to our spiritual advisor, Father Lindsay, who took a break from San Damiano to be with us. I loved his message, too, to care for our teens many of whom are troubled and weighed down by the cares of our world. Jenny Kenoyer's message was an excellent one. Even we, on our own, can make a difference by letting others know that we are fed up with services to the needy, especially seniors, constantly under seige while monies for planned parenthood and abortions are running rampant. Jenny, now at 75 years of age, is making the most of what sounds like a wonderful and active life. She appears to be living it up by paying it forward. Many thanks to her for her time with us. Our club gave her a stipend which she said would immediately go to Catholic Charities. Our by-laws were adopted today and so now a term on the board is two years, we can change our meeting place to best serve our board members and we can elect new board members readily. Elections are next month and we still surely could use two more voices on the board. Please consider joining us for 9 board meetings and l0 general meetings per year. Board meetings are under an hour and you need spend little or no time serving in other capacities. I look at serving on the board as a way to give back, to serve God and to evangelize our Faith. What an opportunity! Call me if I can write your name on our ballot for June...my number is 527.0026 or 409.8197. If I don't answer, simply say, "I'm on, Sue; write down my name." Look forward to hearing from you! Our last meeting for this year is June 8 at 7:00 a.m. for Mass. Don't miss this one. Pete Morelli, Principal at St. Mary High School in Stockton and NFL referee, is our speaker and he will be addressing his faith journey in these interesting career choices. We're counting you in if you indeed are a member; otherwise, please call my number(s) and make a reservation. We are dark in July and August and meet again on September 14 when dues are due! God bless us everyone!
