A word from our president:

I hope that those of you who were able to attend the November breakfast meeting of the Catholic Professional & Business Club came away with an awesome sense of hope. We were blessed to have Lynis Chaffey, Director of Interfaith Ministries share with us details of the wonderful work that she is a part of. Needless to say it was also eye opening to hear from the two women whose lives have been touched by that work. Now we prepare for our next breakfast meeting. Please note that it will be held not on the second Tuesday of the month but rather on the first Tuesday. That is, December 2, 2008. Mass & Choir: On that morning, plan to attend Mass which is to begin at 7:00am in an impromptu “chapel” set up in the Sacramento room just a few steps from our breakfast meeting hall. And in what has become a tradition we will be blessed with an early Christmas gift, as our club welcomes the St. Joseph’s Choir under the direction of the very talented Dr. Svetlana Avetisyan. Could there be a better way to launch the month of December? Posters: As mentioned in the last newsletter, we now have posters available to help promote our Catholic Professional & Business Club. These are suitable for posting in the vestibule of your parish. All that is needed is the permission of your pastor. These posters come with convenient tear-off membership applications. I encourage every member to help spread the word about the CP&BC by picking one of these up at the next meeting. Business Card spotlight: We have instituted an exciting new element at our breakfast meetings. We collect business card from those attendees who wish to participate and then pick a card to spotlight. Prior to our Guest Speaker, the winning attendee is then given five minutes to address the membership about their line of business and or journey of faith. So be sure to bring your business cards! Again we suggest that you invite a guest to join you at our next CP&BC breakfast meeting on Tuesday December 2, 2008 at 7:00am at the Double Tree Hotel. Maybe they too will become active members of our club! Have a joyful and blessed Thanksgiving and let us we keep in our prayers and intentions the lonely and the less fortunate.

In Christ, Joseph Nesta
